【 摘 要 】
Introduction: To evaluate treatment outcomesof patients diagnosed with Takayasu arteritis (TA), who underwentextra-anatomical bypass surgery using biosynthetic grafts. Methods:This retrospective study included 12 TA patients considered eligiblefor surgical revascularization between January 2005 and May 2011 fromtwo vascular surgical units in Turkey.Control group consisted of 12peripheral arterial disease patients who underwent supra-aorticextra-anatomical bypass surgery using polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)graft. Preoperatively, all patients underwent Doppler ultrasound andarteriography. Patients were examined every 3 months for clinicalfindings after monthly follow-up during the first 6 months, first, second and third year controls. Graft patencies were evaluated byDoppler ultrasound at each visit. Results: The mean age was 38.6 ± 4.2years and the mean follow-up time was 37.9 ± 6.9 months for the studygroup. In Biosynthetic Group, subclavian-subclavian (n = 2),axillo-axillary (n = =9) and carotico-subclavian (n = 1) bypassoperations were performed. In PTFE group, subclavian-subclavian (n = 3),axillo-axillary (n = 7), subclavian-left ulnar (n = 1),subclavian-distal brachial (n = 1) bypass operations were performed.Graft occlusion occurred in four patients in PTFE Group during follow-upperiod. These occlusive lesions were treated successfully according tothe routine of each vascular unit. Conclusion: We concluded that ininflammatory diseases like TA, biosynthetic grafts havepromisingpatency, postoperative clinical findings and lower rates ofcomplications requiringreintervention in mid-term.
