Archival description instrument in electronic media: setting the table of standard patterns, standardization and metadata

【 摘 要 】

This paper presents a framework for setting standards, and metadata standards to be used for description of the resolutions of the rector of the Federal University of Santa Maria - UFSM. Due to its probative value and informative documents arising from legal and normative acts UFSM are considered permanent, i.e., they are historical documents that make up the documentary heritage of the University. Currently, most of these documents are available only in paper form. The release of these documents will allow a greater and better access. To develop a tool description in the digital medium is necessary to define the framework of standards and metadata standards to be used. For this, first, we tried to understand the situation of the acquits regarding the description and access. This was necessary because the establishment of this framework was based on previous experience, adapting it to archival standards. The standard used is NOBRADE and metadata standard is the e-ARQ Brazil. This framework should be implemented in the electronic system of the University (SIE). Later, it will publish the instrument in electronic archival description. Thus, the research has contributed to studies on the Archival Description, employment of its standards, and the use of information technology.
