Estudos preliminares com bromoacetamida, um novo moluscicida

【 摘 要 】

Bromocetamide has been tested as molluscicide, with good results, in the People's Republic of China, on Oncomelania, host of Schistosoma japonicum. We have conducted preliminary assays with bromoacetamide on adult snails (B. glabrata, B. tenagophila and B. straminea), newly hatched smails and egg-masses. This product has been also tested on fishes (Lebistes reticulatus). Comparative assays have been made with pentaclorophenol to evaluate the suceptibility of the snails. Snails tested had a diameter of 8-10 mm; the newly hatched were 1-3 days old and the eggs-masses. 0-1 day old. The temperature of the water varied from 24.3 to 27.5° C. Bromoacetamide was active on adult and newly hatched snails and egg-masses, in concentrations from 1-4ppm. The product was less toxic for jish (LC90 = 7,5 ppm). These results indicate that bromoacetamide has promising molluscicide activity for Biomphalaria spp control.
