【 摘 要 】

The discussed border region is. because of its location, among less developed regions in Austria. The paper analyses the demographic situation and presents the outcome of a guestionnaire which intention it was, to find out about the economic characteristics of the region, particularly in regard to the newly established state of Slovenia.
