【 摘 要 】

The use of antimicrobials, especially when it is inappropriate it exert a selective pressure on the microbial flora conditioning the appearance of strains resistant to them. These phenomena have been fully documented in medical literature, thus are identified some strategies for its control including the implementation of programs for antibiotic control which is a measure demonstrating its value. In the "Joaquín Albarrán" Clinical Surgical University Hospital, a multidimensional program has achieved significant results in the improvement of antimicrobial prescription quality and the effectiveness of health management, something that may to serve as reference for implementation in other health institutions.
