【 摘 要 】

The role of system simulation,encompassing the various features of the missile in system design, isbrought out. Specific issues investigated through the simulation modelare highlighted with supporting results from flight records, whereverpossible. The requirement to consider slosh as 'inclined' rather than'vertical' in situations where the missile is subjected to large lateralaccelerations and orientation changes is brought out. Accentuation ofslosh activity in free flight is demonstrated from both simulationresults and flight records. The requirement to consider engine inertiacarefully in roll loop analysis is highlighted. Results of structuralresponse when flexural mode is excited are presented. The effect ofquantisation noise in the control system in low dynamic pressure regionhas been investigated and compared with flight results. Occurence ofvarious important events predicted by the simulation programme in a longrange mission and the actual vehicle performance are compared. Finally,the Role played by the simulation programme in hardware-in-loopsimulation is brought out.
