【 摘 要 】
"Higher harmonics in the acousticspectrogram of an unmanned air vehicle in-flight; as obtained from aground-based microphone measurement, is shown to be useful forestimating the vehicle's altitude, speed andtrue engine revolutionsper minute. Specifically, the Doppler-shifted frequency time historiesderived from spectrogram contours are used in this estimation approachwhich is based on a least mean square error fitto an Instantaneousfrequency model proposed In the literature. Benefits of employing higherharmonics -rather than the fundamental only -in the computations arebrought out. The results obtained are satisfactory. A possible systemconfiguration for automatic detection and localisation of similaraircraft is briefly discussed here.
