【 摘 要 】

This article draws on the framework of the “global value chain�? todescribe local cluster development in the 3D -animation industry inColombia. It is argued that the participation in global value chains canhave a positive impact on cluster growth and innovation, and theindividual firm as well. Porter’s diamond is used to illustrate thecharacteristics that drive dynamic cluster development in this case andto point out the necessary policy recommendations for further enhancingthe linkage of the 3D-animation cluster into global value chains.
