Influence of nitrogen fertilization and growing season on the yield of basil leaves (Ocimum basilicum var. tuscan green) for medicinal purposes

【 摘 要 】

Introduction:Basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) currently is spread across all continents and was introduced in Brazil with the arrival of Italian colonization. As increasing their use for medical purposes.Objective: to evaluate the effect of nitrogen mineral fertilizers in the production of Tuscan basil leaf lettuce, grown in different seasons (spring and fall).Methods :the plant material used was from commercial seed basil, Toscana Verde. The design was a randomized block in a factorial 6 x 2, with five replications, the first factor consisted of five doses of nitrogen and a control (0; 45; 90; 135; 180 and 225 kg ha-1 of nitrogen) and the second by growing seasons (spring and fall), and given the productive characteristics of these.Results:the cultivar Tuscan basil leaf lettuce, has favored its development during the spring farming, having no effect on any of the growing seasons of nitrogen fertilization.Conclusion:It isn’t recommended to use nitrogen fertilizer in the culture, and recommended the cultivation of the spring period.
