Rend煤-Osler-Weber disease: apropos of 5 cases with recurrent epistaxis

【 摘 要 】

Patients with epistaxis represent 10 to 12 %of cases were seen at the emergency otolaryngology services. Five patients treatedin this service at the General Teaching Hospital "Enrique Cabrera"from January 2010 to February 2011 were referred from the hematology serviceof this hospital due to episodes of spontaneous and recurrent epistaxis andfamily history of nasal bleeding. All of them had Rendu-Osler-Weber diseaseor hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia. We hereby describe the behavior ofbleeding and present the association with platelet function disorders in twoof them. The results of treatment and monitoring to control nosebleeds weresatisfactory in all 5 cases.
