【 摘 要 】

From years, there has been a declining interest instandardization and developing standards for libraries and bibliographic description among Polish librarians. In this article we present the problems of standardization within the activities of the Polish National Standards Body, the issue of adapting IFLA standards and the state of the art of bibliographic standards. As an example of good practice we indicate the policy of standardization in German-speaking countries.
