In Cuba, although the number of records of new species of thrips has increased in the last years, it is true that it is still necessary to study the fauna of this group of insects and specially their incidence on the crops including the solanaceas. For detecting the presence of thrips on this group of plants in three crop systems, three botanical species (eggplant , pepper and tomato) were sampled in Havana province in 2003 and 2004.
