【 摘 要 】

This article analyzes characteristics of translations ofAmerican, French and Indian literature into Kazakh. The authors examinetranslations of the works of Rabindranath Tagore and Ferdinand Duchenne intothe Kazakh language and describe the style of translation, motives for translationand cultural differences revealed by translation. Using the scientific methodof content analysis, the authors show a quantitative imbalance between originalsand their translations and attribute this to the historical, cultural andethical differences.
