【 摘 要 】

Some species of thrips are considered pests of different crops and can cause direct damages by feeding or by the transmission of viral diseases in many crops. In Cuba, studies for determining the species of thrips associated to grains, roots, tubers and tobacco have been scarce. For detecting the presence of thrips on this group of plants, eight botanical species belonging to six families were sampled in nine municipalities in Havana province during 2003 and 2004. The specimens were collected by striking the plants over a white cardboard.
