【 摘 要 】

The present study proposes a procedure for considering the environmental externalities intechnology selection decision-making, based on the outcome of Life Cycle Assessments. Currently,even if there are several methods available for technology selection and purchasing, almost all of themseem to ignore the external cost associated with the candidates. The main features of the proposedmodel are its simplicity and flexibility, while it leads to an easily comparable or incorporated in othermodels single value. An application of this procedure concerning the comparison of two urban buses,fueled by different fuels for the city of Athens, is also included.
