Figures Figure 1 Comparative sizes of the print versions of October issues of CHEST. The 2005 issue, the largest size ever published by CHEST, was the last in a series of larger than normal issues that helped eliminate a backlog of 500 accepted manuscripts. For comparison purposes, the 2006 issue is shown as an example of the size of a typical issue. On July 1, 2005, my tenure as Editor in Chief of CHEST began; on June 30, 2019, it will end. As I reflect on the 14 years, they have been filled with memories, the most memorable of which I have chosen to share in this commentary.
