【 摘 要 】

With a large number of competitors in the current market, companies need to search for innovations that maintain the quality of their product and decrease their cost of production. The improvement in production processes has increased the use of plastic materials as raw materials, which are priced lower than metals and are still resistant to corrosion. Injection molding is a method widely used in plastics processing. Because it presents many variables, this process needs to be very controlled so that the final pieces present the desired quality. This paper presents a case study carried out for improvements in the parameters of a two - piece injection process produced in ABS plastic at a company that manufactures hospital medical products located in the city of Pelotas, RS. In the accomplishment of the case study an experiment project was elaborated with four variables of the injection process and two critical dimensions for the assembly of the final product of each one of the pieces.
