【 摘 要 】
An adequate diagnosis of a class II patient requires a detailed evaluation of the skeletal and facial pattern to determine what type of treatment plan will require, be it orthodontic, orthopedic-orthodontic or surgical-orthodontic. Objective: The aim of this study was to correlate the measures of the skeletal pattern (Steiner analysis) with the facial pattern (Burstone and Legan analysis) of patients with dentofacial deformity class II. Materials and methods: Ninety-two digital cephalometric radiographs (46 male and 46 female) between 18 and 45 years of age were analyzed using the Planmeca Romexis® 4.0 software to evaluate the facial and skeletal pattern. Results: There were no significant differences between the correlation of the facial pattern with the skeletal pattern of the patients. Only 67.39% of the male gender has a positive correlation between the facial pattern and the class II skeletal pattern. However, in the female gender only 39.13% presents a correlation between the facial pattern and the class II skeletal pattern. Conclusion: The facial pattern accompanies the skeletal pattern with dentofacial deformity class II in both gender in the population studied.
