【 摘 要 】
This paper has as its main purpose to analyze how Accounting students assess their course and profession, considering the perspectives of value of the service received perceived prestige of the profession and identification with Accountancy. The paper was developed from a literature review about three topics (value, prestige and identification) and a survey of 167 students from different Accounting schools in the city of Fortaleza. The main results showed that: (1) the most important factors of influence in general perception of value are epistemic value, emotional value and institution's reputation; (2) student's assessment decrease as they advance in the course; (3) three groups of students are well outlined (Enthusiastic, Satisfied and Critic) and members of each group are dispersed along the different periods (years) of the course.Keywords: Accounting students; Perceived value; Profession reputation and identification.
