【 摘 要 】

In Chile are scarce studies carried out withpeasants farmers in aparticipative way to the definition of indicators appropiate to their context. The purpose of this work is to establish through a participative process a set of sustainability indicators that respond to the contexts of development of rural property peasant systems, located in sector Boyeco, Región de la Araucanía. The methodological framework employed corresponded to the Assesment Framework of Management Systems incorporating sustainability indicators (MESMIS). The study units corresponded to a conventional system (CS) and to an agroecological (AS), both belonging to the Juan Quepan community. It was established a set of 14 indicators, grouped in eight diagnostic criteria that covered the three dimensions (economic, social and ecological) of sustainability thus contributing to a multidimensional analysis.
