ThemigrationofDCsisacriticalfunction,enablinginformationtobecarriedtowheretheimmunologicalresponseoccurs.ParasitesareknowntoweakenhostimmunitybyinterferingwiththefunctionsofDCsandthus,maybeasourceofmoleculeswithimmunomodulatoryproperties.Here,wedemonstratethatthesolubleprotein,GRA5,specifictoToxoplasmagondii,isabletoincreasethemigrationofhumanCD34‐DCstowardCCL19.AsyntheticPep29derivedfromtheGRA5hydrophilicNTregion(Pep29)wasfoundtobeinternalizedbymacropinocytosisandtotriggerinvitromigrationofCD34‐DCsviaCCR7expressionwithoutactivatingDCs.Pep29alsoinducedadecreaseinthenumberofLCsfromhumanskinepidermis.AslocaldepletionofDCsandmigrationofimmatureDCsleadtoadisruptionofthespecificinnateresponse,ourresultshighlightthepotentialofusingpathogen‐derivedsyntheticpeptidesasnovelcellmodulatorswithatherapeuticpotentialtoreducesymptomsininflammatorydisorders...
