ThisstudytestedthehypothesisthatIL‐27andIL‐23,twoheterodimericcytokinesinvolvedinphysiologicalimmuneresponsesandimmunologicaldisorders,mayfunctiononhumanPCandplasmablasts.ItwasreportedthatIL‐27actsonhumanmatureBcells,buttheroleofIL‐27andIL‐23inhumanPCremainstobeestablished.Thus,wehaveaskedwhetherthesecytokinesmaymodulatehumanPCfunctionsusinghumanPPCgeneratedinvitro,PCisolatedfromtonsils,andBM.Here,weshowforthefirsttimethatPCandPPCexpresscompleteIL‐27RandthatIL‐27exertschemotacticpropertiesonthesecellsandmodulatesdifferentchemokines/chemokinereceptorsandsecretionofIgMandIgG.Furthermore,wedemonstratedthatPCandPPCexpressbothchainsofIL‐23RandIL‐23andexertedsimilaractivitytoIL‐27intermsofIgproduction,whilenotinducingPCchemotaxis.TheseresultsmayprovidenovelinsightintotheroleofIL‐27andIL‐23inhumanBcellimmuneresponses...
