【 摘 要 】

Diagnosis of pleural diseases creates difficulty due to overlapping cytopathological and histopathological feature of various benign and malignant conditions. However pleural fluid cytology and histopathology of closed pleural biopsy specimen are most commonly used procedure to diagnose various pleural diseases in developing country like India. In present study, we gave emphasis on histopathological and cytopathological characteristic of various pleural diseases and evaluated the efficacy and correlated the pleural fluid cytology and histopathology of pleural biopsy in diagnosing various pleural diseases.
