【 摘 要 】

The periodontium is the structure through which the orthodontist moves teeth, therefore the success of orthodontic treatment depends in part on the integrity of health of the periodontal tissues impacting likewise in dental esthetics patient. Certain orthodontic movement with a technique incorrect brushing and poor hygiene will affect the periodontal producing changes in the periodontal fibers and the gingival tissues, because the fixed appliance makes it harder dental cleaning and predisposes to accumulation of plaque especially between the brackets and the gingival margin can produce different gingival disorders such as hyperplasias, black triangles, recessions among others that will sometimes take the patient to periodontal surgery . OBJECTIVES: The objective of this study was to evaluate gingival changes after correction of mild, moderate and severe crowding in bibliographic reviews of clinical cases of patients with permanent dentition who took orthodontic treatment METHODOLOGY: The methodology was a search of articles in Databases through the internet. A bibliographic review was performed with key words such as periodontium. Printed books were used. CONCLUSIONS: The conclusion that each case requires individualized attention, interdisciplinary diagnosis and therapeutic planning that meets the objectives that the same demands to achieve an adequate orthodontic treatment
