【 摘 要 】
The primary objective of this study was to appraise the nutritional significance of selected vegetables from North Waziristan Agency, Khyber Pakhtoon Khawa, Pakistan, in order to enlighten the people of the nutritive benefits of these vegetables. Six vegetables including Hibiscus esculentus (Lady finger), Solanum tuberosum (Potato), Allium cepa (Onion), Cucurbita pepo (Kado), Cucurbita moschata (Pumpkin) and Memordica charantia (Bitter gourd) were evaluated for their dietary contents. The proximate analysis of these vegetables was carried out by using the recommended methods Association of Analytical Communities (AOAC) for the determination of moisture, ash, crude fat, crude fiber, protein, carbohydrate, energy values, macroelements (Na, K, Ca) and microelements (Fe, Cu, Zn, Ni, Cd). Different amount of these dietary contents was found in different species.
