【 摘 要 】

There is considerableprogress in the study of the biotransformation of limonene. Extensive researchon the biotransformation of limonene has resulted in the elucidation of newmetabolic pathways. Natural flavors can be produced via biotransformation, satisfyingconsumer demand for natural products. This review presents some elements concerningthe biotransformation of limonene with emphasis on the metabolic pathways. Somecomments are also made on problems related to biocatalysis as well as on theapplication of some compounds originating from the biotransformation of theinexpensive limonene.
