【 摘 要 】
The driving forceof boron adsorption on some tropical soils was evaluated by means of thermodynamicparameters. The batch method was employed, and the reaction was monitored atdifferent pH values. The Langmuir equation successfully fitted the experimentalresults and provided reasonable isotherm parameters. Boron adsorption increasedas a function of the pH of the soil solution and the concentration of addedboron. The reaction was favorable and proceeded spontaneously, being stronglyexoergic, as indicated by a negative free energy (DG)and a separation factor (KR) < 1. The boron adsorptionphenomenon and the soil-solution interface were thermodinamically describedusing a theoretical model.
