【 摘 要 】

Contextualized overview of the Biodiesel ProductionChain, from the lab bench to the industry, with critical evaluation of state-of-artand technological development through scientific articles and patents, focusingon feedstock, reaction/production, first and second generation processes, specificationand quality, transport, storage, co-products (effluents and sub-products), andemissions. Challenges are identified and solutions are proposed based on theBrazilian feedstock, edaphoclimatic conditions, process monitoring in remoteregions, state policy, and environment preservation, among others. Forecastsare made based on the technology assessment, identifying future trends and opportunitiesfor R&D&I.
