Foxp3+Tregshavebeenknownasamajorregulatorofimmunehomeostasisthroughtheirimmunosuppressivefunction.Th17lineageisaCD4+Tcellsubsetthatexertsitsfunctionbysecretingproinflammatorycytokinesandprotectinghostagainstmicrobialinfections.ThealteredratiobetweenFoxp3+TregsandTh17cellsplaysanimportantroleinthepathogenesisofimmune‐relateddiseases.RecentmiceandhumanstudieshavedemonstratedthatTregscanbereprogrammedintoanovelpopulation,IL‐17+Foxp3+Tcells,phenotypicallyandfunctionallyresemblingTh17cellsunderthecomplicatedcytokinestimulation.TheidentificationofIL‐17+Foxp3+TcellsmayprovideanewunderstandingoftherapytargetingTregsandTh17cellsinautoimmunediseasesandcancer.Here,wehighlightsignificantdataregardingthephenotypeprofile,origination,differentiation,andthepleiotropicfunctionsofIL‐17+Foxp3+TcellsandthereciprocalrelationshipsofthesecellstoTregsandTh17cells.Furthermore,theroleofIL‐17+Foxp3+Tcellsintumorigenesisandclinicalimplicationsincancertherapyarediscussedinthisreview...
