RegulatedproductionofROSismainlyattributedtoNoxfamilyenzymes.Inneutrophilgranulocytesandmacrophages,Nox2hasacrucialroleinbacterialkilling,andtheabsenceofphagocyticROSproductionleadstothedevelopmentofCGD.ExpressionofNox2wasalsodescribedinBlymphocytes,wheretheroleoftheenzymeisstillpoorlyunderstood.Here,weshowthatperitonealBcells,whichwereshownrecentlytopossessphagocyticactivity,haveahighcapacitytoproduceROSinaNox2‐dependentmanner.InphagocytosingBcells,intenseintraphagosomalROSproductionisdetected.Finally,bystudying2animalmodelsofCGD,wedemonstratethatphagocyteoxidase‐deficientBcellshaveareducedcapacitytokillbacteria.OurobservationsextendthenumberofimmunecelltypesthatproduceROStokillpathogens...
