Non‐humanprimates(NHP)areessentialtranslationalmodelsforbiomedicalresearch.Dendriticcells(DC)areagroupofantigenpresentingcells(APC)thatplaypivotalrolesintheimmunobiologyofhealthanddiseaseandareattractivecellsforadoptiveimmunotherapytostimulateandsuppressimmunity.DChavebeenstudiedextensivelyinhumansandmicebutuntilrecently,havenotbeenwellcharacterizedinNHP.ThisreviewconsiderstheavailabledataaboutDCacrossarangeofNHPspeciesandsummarizestheunderstandingofinvitro‐propagatedDCandinvivo‐isolatedDC,whichisnowestablished.ItisclearthatalthoughNHPDCexistwithintheparadigmofhumanDC,thereareimportantfunctionalandphenotypicdifferenceswhencomparedwithhumanDCsubsets.Thesedifferencesneedtobetakenintoaccountwhendesigningpreclinical,translationalstudiesofDCtherapyusingNHPmodels...【 授权许可】
