【 摘 要 】
“Sepharad” is the Hebrew term for the Iberian Peninsula. The name originated in the Muslim al-Andalus. The Sepharads of today are descendants of Jews from Spain and Portugal. The purpose of the paper is to show how scholars in recent years have highlighted two perspectives on the history of the Sepharads: the relationship with Islam, and the conversion to Judaism. The sources used here are contributions that have addressed these issues, mainly studies from 1970 onwards within the fields of Iberian medieval history as well as in Jewish and Islamic studies. The article will also give a historical background of the Jews in Spain.
