【 摘 要 】
The article analyses the emergence and development of two scholarly journals dedicated to research in Norwegian labour history: Tidsskrift for arbeiderbevegelsens historie (TFAH, Journal of Labour Movement History, 1976–86) and Arbeiderhistorie (Labour History, 1987–present). The article also assesses the journals’ relationships to other journals in the Norwegian field of scientific history. In parallel to the emergence of similar journals in other countries of the global north, the foundation of TFAH marked an point of departure and reorientation. Taken together, TFAH and its successor, Arbeiderhistorie, became important fora for a new cohort of historians, many born between 1940 and 1950, and many of them female scholars. The initial neo-Marxist expectations to make TFAH a means of societal revolution were soon disappointed, and around 1980 the journal’s epistemological approach shifted to critical rationalism. In 1986 the publication of TFAH was discontinued due to a lack of sales, but by 1987 a sustainable model for the continued publication of research in labour history was found, when the Norwegian Labour Movement Archives and Library (Arbark) began publishing Arbeiderhistorie. Taken together, both journals have served, in a broad sense, as scholarly fora for research into the history of labour, the labour and related social movements.
