【 摘 要 】

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of exercise therapy on electrocardiogram and body mass index(BMI)of patients with chronic schizophrenia. Methods 〓Totally 160 patients with chronic schizophrenia were randomly divided into the study group and the control group, with 80 cases in each group. Patients in both two groups received routine care during treatment, and those in the study group were given exercise therapy additionally. Changes in the electrocardiogram and BMI of patients were observed and compared before and after intervention. Results The BMI was decreased in both two groups after intervention, and was lower in the study group than that of controls(P<0.01). There were fewer patients with electrocardiographic abnormality in the study group than that of controls(11.25% vs. 23.75%, P<0.05). Conclusion 〓Exercise therapy is potentially effective to reduce the incidence of electrocardiographic abnormality and BMI of patients with chronic schizophrenia, therefore reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
