【 摘 要 】

Abstract: Novel Schiff bases (E)-6-(benzylideneamino)-3,3-dimethyl-7-oxo-4-thia-1-aza-bicyclo heptane-2-carboxylic acid (L1) and (E)-6-(4-hydroxy benzylideneamino)-3,3-dimethyl-7-oxo-4-thia-1-aza-bicyclo heptane-2-carboxylic acid (L2) were synthesized. Further metal complexes of these Schiff bases were synthesized using various metal nitrates.Both Schiff bases and their metal complexes were screened for antibacterial activity against different bacterial species such as Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus. Some Schiff base and metal complexes showed moderate to excellent activity.
