【 摘 要 】
We analyze the performance of a telecommunicationsmanagement network (TMN) system using models ofnetworks of queues, Jackson?s theorem, and simulation.TMN systems for managing public asynchronous transfermode (ATM) networks generally have a four-levelhierarchical structure consisting of a network managementsystem, a few element management systems (EMSs), andseveral pairs of agents and ATM switches. We construct aJackson's queuing network and present formulae tocalculate its performance measures: distributions of queuelengths and waiting times, mean message response time, and maximum throughput. We perform a numericalanalysis and a simulation analysis and compare the results.
