【 摘 要 】
Adhesively bonded joints are currently of interest to the aerospace field due to the heavy reliance on bonded composite structures in new aircraft designs. In response, tools for joints analysis have been developed and examined. In this paper, the type of failure involved in single adhesive lap joints of composite has been experimentally investigated. An acoustic emission technique (AET) was used to monitor the pre and post aspects of damage growth in adhesive composite joint in terms of strain energy released rate and sound amplitude dissipated. Criticality of prior to failure was well assessed through acoustic waves monitoring method.
