【 摘 要 】
I discuss the phenomenon of inhomogeneous chiral symmetry breaking in dense quark matter, with a particular emphasis on its relevance for the physics of compact stars. After briefly reviewing the formalism employed for the study of crystalline chiral condensates within effective models, I focus on their effects on the equation of state and the possible consequences for mass-radius relations. Finally, I discuss how model extensions which provide a more realistic description of matter inside compact stellar objects affect the formation of these inhomogeneous condensates.
