【 摘 要 】

We present the main results about plane maps with vanishing denominator by using as examples some economic applications where these results are used to investigate the global properties of the dynamic model. This kind of maps, originally brought to the attention of the researchers through their appearence in an economic application, are now well understood and the related results can now be applied to new models.
