【 摘 要 】
Recent results on the proton-neutron mass splitting, relevant for the stability of ordinary matter, and on the properties of matter in under extreme conditions as created by heavy ion experiments, obtained through numerical simulations of Lattice Quantum Chromo- and Electrodynamics are discussed.
