【 摘 要 】

The purpose of this study was to analyze the presence of Rasbora populations in five rivers of Bahorok district, Langkat regency, North Sumatra. Rasbora fishes were captured purpossively from five rivers, namely Berkail, Landak, Musam, Kerapu, and Bahorok rivers with two replications within 2-mo intervals. Fish population size was analyzed using catch-per-unit effort (CPUE) method. Two morphotypes of Rasbora species, i.e. Rasbora sp1 and Rasbora sp2 were collected in this study. The highest number of individuals was found in Bahorok river with 140 ind. of Rasbora sp1 and 42 ind. of Rasbora sp2. The majority of the population is obtained with a total length of about 77-103 mm with the reproductive status of females being gonadal and mature.
