Discovering Web Services based on logicalmatching of capabilities is a new requirement forSemantic Web Services which cannot be solved withtraditional information retrieval (IR) techniques.Building fast and precise logical discovery engines isan ongoing challenge of the Semantic Web community.This paper presents the discovery engine implementedfor the INFRAWEBS project which combines atraditional IRbased prefiltering step and a logic based matching implemented in Prolog. The logic based step of discovery uses a novel technique basedon Prologstyle unification of terms.
