【 摘 要 】

We discuss the issue of evaluating our context-based person- alized mobile search approach with a methodology based on a combination of two evaluation approaches: context simu- lation and user study. Our personalized approach aims at exploiting some context-aware user profiles through a per- sonalized score to re-rank initial search results obtained from a standard search system. We use Yahoo!’s open search web services platform BOSS 1 as a baseline. The context simu- lation allows us to simulate user locations and their related user interests. The user study involves real users who give their relevance judgments to the top 20 documents returned by yahoo and by our approach through an assessment tool available on the web platform OSIRIM2. The experimental results show the effectiveness of our personalized approach according to the proposed evaluation protocol.
