【 摘 要 】
In smart environments, applications can support users intheir daily life by being ubiquitously available throughvarious interaction devices. Applications deployed in suchan environment, have to be able to adapt to differentcontext of use scenarios in order to remain usable for theuser. For this purpose the designer of such an applicationdefines adaptations from her point of view.Because of situations, which are unforeseeable at designtime, the user sometimes needs to adjust the designers’decisions. For instance, the capabilities and personalpreferences of the user cannot be completely foreseen bythe designer. The user needs a way to understand andchange adaptations defined by the designer and to definenew adaptations. This requires the definition of a set ofcontext of uses and adaptations applied to the user interfacein this situation. For this reason supportive user interfacesshould enable the user to control and evaluate the state ofthe adaptive application and to understand “What happensand why?”1 In this paper, we describe the requirements andfunction of a supportive user interface to evaluate andcontrol an adaptive application, deployed in a smartenvironment.
