【 摘 要 】

This note has three main sections,corresponding to three different kinds of contribution to Dagtuhl Seminar 04391,Semantic Interoperability and integration,held from 20 to 24 September 2004.These sections respectively concern:(1)a brief sociology of a science lab,elucidating the golas and methods of a particular group of potential users of technology for integration and interoperability;(2)mathematich foundations for information integration ,based on ideas from category and institution theories;and (3)tool support for information integration ,with an emphasis on mapping tools.The final section of the paper gives some conclusions,and the appendix contains some mathematical details for the second tpoic.
