【 摘 要 】

The problem of identifying how many (doubly periodic) patterns exist onthe plane, which are different from thepoint of view of symmetry can be approached in different ways and using different mathematicaltools. And thefinal conclusion that there are only a finite number is by no means evident a priori. Using the DVD Symmetry – thedynamical way extensively we willlook at examplesof stamps with differentshapes and properties, which producefigures with different types of symmetry.
