In a collaborative effort with NOAA's Coastal Services Center, Texas Parks and Wildlife• In a Department, Alta Vista Consulting, Tukman Geospatial and the Harte Research Institute forDepartment, Gulf of Mexico Studies, three multi-spectral imaging systems flew concurrent flights over theGulf of Redfish Bay State Scientific Area in Texas. Recent regulations prohibit damage to seagrass inRedfish this area for a period of five years. This project provides baseline data for gauging thethis area for a effectiveness of those regulations, and compares the Leica ADS-40, DMC Imager, UltraCam, and analog imagery for the ability to delineate propeller scarring in seagrass beds.UltraCam, and analog The sensors image approximately 64 square miles at 1/4 meter resolution, and comparisonThe sensors criteria includes horizontal accuracy, radiometric and spatial resolution, spatial offsets, criteria includes exposure variations, dynamic range, mosaic quality, IR penetration, and ease of use andexposure processing. Automated scar delineation is performed using a single set of training sites, processing. ensuring a valid comparison.ensuring a valid comparison.
