We performed direct numerical simulations of tur bulent flow in square and skewed ducts. A second orderaccurate finitevolume approach was used to dis cretize the NavierStokes equations in a curvilinear co ordinate system. The mean secondary flow field was observed in all cases; in the skewed ducts, however, the strength of the secondary flow is weaker compared to that for the square duct.
